Dutch Interactive Awards (DIA)
We are thrilled to announce that Loyyo took home the prestigious Gold DIA Award in the Data category!

Pets Place Case
“An amazing case. The insights you create with this are insane: deep insights into what customers truly want. Everything you can do online, you can now replicate in physical retail as well.” — Dutch Interactive Awards Jury.
What if your customers aren’t humans, but pets?
As a retailer, you know that Loyyo uncovers the invisible buyer. We plug into payment terminals and wallets to unlock powerful insights like Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), RFM metrics, and behavior-based personas.
But when we teamed up with leading pet retailer Pets Place, we asked a radical question: What if the real end-customers aren’t the ones holding the payment card? What if they have four legs?
In pet retail, traditional transaction metrics only scratch the surface. To drive true loyalty, you have to understand the life cycle of the pet. A puppy needs different care than a senior dog; a long-haired cat has different needs than a short-haired one.
By seamlessly combining standard transaction data with specific product purchases, Loyyo didn’t just build customer profiles, we created “Petsonas”.

How it works: Predicting the Pet’s Needs
We looked past the human checkout and mapped the data to estimate a pet’s breed, age, weight, and care needs:
- Age & Type: Card A has been buying puppy food for 8 months—meaning it’s time to transition to adolescent nutrition.
- Coat & Skin Care: Card B consistently buys food for long-haired dogs, triggering specialized care recommendations.
- Weight Estimation: Card C buys 5kg bags of food every X weeks, allowing us to accurately estimate the pet’s size and caloric needs.
- Health & Preventative Care: Card D has never bought a flea or tick treatment, identifying a major gap and a prime activation opportunity.
This is Pet Lifetime Value (PLV); where standard retail data transforms into proactive, hyper-personalized care.
The Impact of PLV Activation
Through smart segmentation, targeted brand partnerships, and terminal-level activation, the results spoke for themselves:
- 189,000+ Dogs successfully identified through purchasing behavior.
- +32% Increase in Average Purchase Value (APV).
- +21% Increase in Average Frequency Rate (AFR).
- 14,000+ Extra preventative care treatments sold directly via terminal prompts.
- €800k Generated in paid premium memberships by offering Pet care insights and advice.
The Bottom Line: Because at the end of the day, who wouldn’t want to improve the actual lifetime value of their pet? Loyyo makes it possible.
